LY Corporation has rolled out a long-awaited update to Business Manager, enabling companies located outside Japan to connect their accounts and channels directly to a Business Manager organization.
Table of Contents
Previously, Business Manager connections were largely designed around Japan-based entities. This created friction for international advertisers trying to consolidate their LINE and LY Ads assets. With this update, accounts and channels belonging to overseas companies can now be linked to organizations created in Business Manager.
The following products are supported at launch, with more services planned:

By connecting these services to Business Manager, overseas companies can use features such as audience sharing and Gain Friend Ads (Cost-Per-Friend Ads) within LY Ads.
For LINE Ads specifically, connecting to Business Manager also unlocks the migration tool for LY Display Ads, reducing the manual work.
Alongside this update, LY Corporation added a new required field when creating a Business Manager organization: Country/Region of Company or Business. This is the key rule you need to understand before attempting a connection.
To successfully connect an account or channel to Business Manager, the country/region set for the Business Manager organization must match the country/region of each account or channel being connected. This includes the ad account’s advertiser information, the Business Manager organization’s country, and the LINE Official Account’s country, all of which must be identical.
✅ If a client’s LINE Official Account, LY Ads/LINE Ads account, and Business Manager organization are all registered under the same country (for example, all under the UK), the connection will succeed.

❌ If even one product – most commonly the ad account – is registered under a different country than the others (a “country mismatch”), the connection will be rejected during review, regardless of legal entity name matching.

⚠️ New Business Manager or ad account applicants can avoid this entirely by ensuring the application country is consistent across all products from the start.
For clients with existing accounts split across countries (for example, a LINE Official Account and Business Manager registered in Japan while the ad account is billed overseas), integration is currently blocked until LY Corporation finalizes its handling of these “cross-country” cases.
Please contact our team if you have any questions on how to connect all your accounts. You can also find more information about this integration here.
⭐️ Confirm that the country/region registered for your Business Manager organization matches the country/region on file for every account or channel you plan to connect.
⭐️ If you are new to LY products, contact our team so we can guide you on how to apply for all products under one consistent country from the outset to avoid review delays.
⭐️ If you have existing accounts with country mismatches across products, hold off on initiating a Business Manager migration until further guidance is issued, and reach out to your account representative for the latest status.
We will continue to update this article as LY Corporation finalizes its policy on cross-country account scenarios. In the meantime, our team is here to support you with LY advertising products.
